Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist with advanced expertise in Computer Vision to join our team.

In this role, you will contribute significantly to both the Discovery and Implementation phases of our projects, working closely with geologists and other client-side collaborators. Your contributions will directly influence the creation and deployment of sophisticated image processing solutions tailored for the geosciences field.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with geologists and client-side professionals during the Discovery phase to understand business priorities, establish project objectives, and identify opportunities for data-driven solutions
  • Lead efforts in designing, developing, and implementing computer vision models for image processing and information extraction
  • Establish efficient protocols for image data acquisition, annotation, preprocessing, and organization
  • Define accuracy metrics and performance indicators to ensure the effectiveness of the delivered solutions in meeting both technical and business requirements
  • Conduct regular discussions and workshops with client partners to maintain alignment, obtain feedback, and foster project advancement
  • Document processes, outcomes, and guidelines for team knowledge sharing and future use
  • Keep informed about emerging trends in computer vision and machine learning to incorporate innovative techniques into project solutions

Requirements

  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in data science roles, with significant focus on computer vision applications
  • Knowledge of deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch and image processing libraries such as OpenCV or PIL
  • Showcase of designing, training, and deploying computer vision models in practical scenarios
  • Background in collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and engaging effectively with non-technical partners
  • Skills in analytical thinking, problem resolution, and effective communication
  • Experience in geosciences or comparable industries
  • Proficiency in Python and data science libraries such as pandas, sklearn, and numpy
  • Expertise in delivering technical presentations and explaining advanced concepts to broader audiences
  • Fluency in English at B1+ proficiency level
