Overview

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Rust to drive the development and maintenance of robust backend services, focusing on scalability, performance, and code quality.

This role involves working with modern technologies and cloud infrastructure to deliver high-impact features and ensure system reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services using Rust
  • Implement API-first services (REST; GraphQL exposure is a plus) and ensure clean, testable code
  • Operate and deploy services on AWS, utilizing tools like Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, and DynamoDB
  • Apply infrastructure-as-code practices and enforce security best practices, including IAM roles and secrets management
  • Optimize SQL or NoSQL database performance and ensure data integrity during schema changes
  • Build integrations with third-party systems and implement asynchronous workflows using messaging systems like SQS/SNS
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, monitor system metrics, and resolve incidents in production environments
  • Collaborate with frontend, QA, and product teams in Agile environments to deliver business-critical features
  • Contribute to technical discussions, estimations, and continuous process improvements
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards and engineering best practices

Requirements

  • 3+ years of backend engineering experience, including hands-on experience with Rust
  • Expertise in Rust development concepts such as ownership, borrowing, and concurrency
  • Knowledge of API development with REST and working with SQL/NoSQL databases
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud services like Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, and DynamoDB
  • Skills in using Git and implementing CI/CD workflows
  • Background in Agile team environments with strong problem-solving and debugging abilities
  • Capability to take increasing ownership and learn new technologies quickly
  • Upper-Intermediate English language proficiency (B2)

Nice to have

  • Experience with async Rust (Tokio, async/await) and event-driven architectures
  • Familiarity with containerization and high-performance or systems-level services
  • Exposure to enterprise-scale environments
