Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Java Developer to guide our development team and drive excellence in performance optimization, cloud reliability and monitoring. This role demands a strong background in Java development and observability with an emphasis on leveraging the Datadog platform.

Responsibilities

  • Lead performance optimization initiatives and memory & CPU reviews
  • Implement and maintain reliability solutions on Azure
  • Monitor systems and infrastructure using Datadog to identify gaps and recommend improvements
  • Review Datadog logs and optimize observability strategies
  • Oversee the design and implementation of robust microservices architectures
  • Apply design patterns to solve complex engineering challenges
  • Ensure optimal functioning of RESTful web services
  • Utilize multithreading techniques effectively in application development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable systems
  • Provide guidance on code quality, architectural decisions and team mentoring

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Java development and microservices
  • Background in Core Java, Spring and Hibernate/JPA
  • Proficiency in Datadog and monitoring tools
  • Expertise in RESTful web services and message brokers
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure, including optimization and reliability practices
  • Competency in design patterns and multithreading
  • Familiarity with performance and memory optimization techniques
  • Understanding of system scalability and observability approaches
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with ElasticSearch and Angular
  • Understanding of JSP, JS and jQuery
  • Background in SQL, Apache Struts 2 and Selenium
  • Experience in Struts, Hibernate and MQ
