Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled DB2 Administrator and Data Integration Engineer to oversee DB2 database administration and lead the design, development, and optimization of data integration pipelines and transformation processes for our Data Analytics Platform.


The ideal candidate will bring significant expertise in DB2 administration, migrations, and data integration, with a strong focus on managing complex datasets and ensuring data quality across systems.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, manage, and resolve production database issues
  • Build and maintain HADR setups, including Primary-Standby and Auxiliary Standby configurations
  • Support DB2 version upgrades and cross-platform database migrations (e.g., AIX to Linux, Windows to Linux)
  • Handle DB migrations from Windows to Cloud Linux with HADR implementation
  • Conduct database health checks covering metrics such as DB size, HADR status, reorg status, and log space
  • Manage database backups, including online, offline, compressed, and non-compressed modes
  • Oversee DB2 LUW V-10.1/10.5/11.1/11.5 installations and configurations
  • Design and develop data ingestion and transformation pipelines, supporting batch processing and incremental loads
  • Perform data transformations, cleansing, and enrichment
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and testers to understand and meet data requirements
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and traceability across environments
  • Optimize data pipelines for improved performance and scalability
  • Document data models, flows, and transformation logic

Requirements

  • Proven experience in DB2 Database Administration as a primary focus
  • Background in Data Analytics platform development and data integration engineering
  • Proficiency in SQL/NZPLSQL and working with DB2 relational databases
  • Expertise in data integration tools and shell scripting
  • Knowledge of data warehouse structures, including active/passive configurations and load balancing
  • Strong skills in stored procedures, query optimization, and performing impact analysis for IBM DB2WH upgrades and changes
  • DB2WH certification or DBA certification (DBA for LUW)
  • Familiarity with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Agile methodologies with tools like Azure DevOps
  • Understanding of insurance or reinsurance data as an added advantage
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Capability to operate in structured environments with formal processes

Nice to have

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms or big data technologies
  • Knowledge of data governance and regulatory compliance practices
