Overview

We are seeking a Senior GenAI/AI Backend Engineer to design, implement and maintain scalable AI-powered applications, focusing on seamless integration of OpenAI APIs and robust backend services in cloud environments.

This role offers shifted working hours - till 10 pm (Kyiv time).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize backend services for AI/LLM applications
  • Integrate, scale and manage LLM-based applications in a cloud environment
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment
  • Monitor and optimize AI services
  • Ensure observability and logging for LLM API performance tracking
  • Collaborate with DevOps and AI/DS teams to streamline workflows and improve system reliability
  • Work with cloud environments such as Azure for hosting and scaling AI applications
  • Develop APIs and microservices to support AI-powered features

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in backend engineering with a focus on AI applications
  • Strong Python backend engineering skills, including FastAPI
  • Knowledge of LLM API integration and production operation, such as OpenAI
  • Expertise in prompt engineering, agentic workflows and orchestration patterns
  • Capability to handle LLM limitations including latency, cost control, retries and fallbacks
  • Background in backend architecture for scalable, LLM-backed APIs
  • Working knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, Redis and Kafka
  • Experience with Databricks and MCP
  • Excellent English communication skills at B2+ level
