Our client operates within the food manufacturing and direct distribution sector, with a strong specialization in frozen and ice products. The company’s core business model focuses on delivering these products directly to end consumers across multiple European countries, ensuring a seamless and efficient distribution process.

The project supports delivery operations through POS (Point of Sales), a mobile application used by drivers to manage delivery-related information. The application covers logistics aspects such as delivery grouping, delivery zones, scheduled time slots, and related operational details.

Responsibilities:

  • Tailor client solutions: Conduct research, assessments, and recommend efficient and robust software solutions tailored to client needs.

  • Deliver high-quality code: Develop and maintain applications using Kotlin for a custom embedded/mobile operating system

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: You will proactively identify areas for improvement in existing programs and lead refactoring efforts.

  • Team collaboration: Collaborate closely with software engineers, product owners, team managers, and clients.

  • Provide client consultancy: Offer technical consultancy services to clients to ensure solutions meet their requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Android development within a professional software engineering environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin; Java is a plus
  • Experience building Android applications using Kotlin and Java, with modern Android development practices and Android Jetpack libraries (ViewModel, DataStore, Navigation), and Jetpack Compose for UI, as well as traditional Views with Fragments
  • Solid understanding of clean architecture and common Android architectural patterns (MVP, MVVM, MVI)
  • Experience with Kotlin Coroutines, reactive programming using RxJava, and task scheduling with WorkManager
  • Experience with local data persistence solutions such as Room and Realm
  • Proficiency with version control systems and collaborative tooling (Git, Atlassian, or similar)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Nice to have:

  • Experience with multi-module Android projects, CI/CD pipelines, and modern deployment practices

  • Familiarity with frontend technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular), deep understanding of the Android SDK.

  • Exposure to accessibility standards, localization, analytics, and UI enhancements (WorkManager, Paging, Lottie)

  • German language skills
