Overview
We're looking for a Cloud Architect to join our team in Lisbon, Portugal in a hybrid working mode. In this role, you will define and implement strategic cloud architecture solutions to ensure alignment with security, compliance and organizational objectives. You will contribute to driving technology innovation, governance processes and operational excellence for the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) division.
Responsibilities
- Define and design cloud architecture solutions that meet business objectives, security and regulatory requirements
- Monitor external SaaS portfolio, assess risks and drive migration roadmaps for in-scope applications
- Deliver architectural blueprints, design patterns and reference frameworks for development teams, ensuring reuse across projects
- Advise teams on cloud-native design, API strategy, DevOps practices and integration of AI/ML and analytics capabilities
- Define and enforce governance processes including cloud security standards, development lifecycle and compliance checks
- Stay current with industry trends, cloud services and fintech innovations to influence strategic technology adoption
- Validate emerging technologies through proofs of concept and collaborate with internal and external partners
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutions to support migration programs
- Communicate progress, risks and recommendations to senior stakeholders through reports and presentations
Requirements
- Proven experience in development and solution architectures, including OOP, OOAD, data, middleware, scalability and resiliency
- Minimum 5 years working with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or IBM Cloud), including designing, migrating and operating production workloads
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, Terraform and Ansible
- Strong knowledge of cloud-native application design and microservices architecture in production environments
- Experience embedding security tools in CI/CD pipelines and applying secure development lifecycle principles (SCA, SAST, DAST, CSPM)
- Ability to create and apply reusable cloud design patterns and reference architectures
- Familiarity with compliance and governance frameworks including GDPR
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting distributed systems and delivering technical resolutions
