We are seeking a Senior Director of Data Consulting to join our remote team.
This leadership role offers the chance to shape data-driven strategies for global clients and influence the direction of enterprise data solutions. Responsibilities
- Oversee the creation, implementation, and deployment of enterprise data platforms and solutions that align with business goals and long-term vision
- Define data frameworks such as data lakes, advanced analytics platforms, and reporting solutions using major cloud providers and modern data processing technologies
- Engage with business stakeholders, Solution Architects, and technical teams to translate business needs into scalable and future-ready data architectures
- Provide strategic guidance to clients on data strategy, governance, and operating models to develop efficient and sustainable data ecosystems tailored to their needs
- Lead consulting projects and presales initiatives by leveraging deep knowledge of data engineering, data management, and analytics
- Analyze current data environments, identify gaps, and propose enhancements for data quality, accessibility, and governance
- Follow industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management, AI/ML, and cloud solutions, applying these insights to client engagements
- Participate in the development of accelerators, blueprints, and open-source tools to reinforce EPAM's Data Service Offerings
- Encourage adherence to Software Development Life Cycle best practices, emphasizing quality-driven code and efficient CI/CD processes
- Communicate complex technical concepts and strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences, aiding stakeholder alignment and informed decision-making
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor for all matters related to data technology and strategy
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in IT, with at least 10 years as a Data Technology Consultant, Data Architect, or a similar role in enterprise data projects
- Participation in at least 10 projects or experience launching 3 or more products or key product capabilities to market
- Ability to manage teams of 70+ FTEs, or smaller teams with significant business impact
- Advanced expertise in data platforms and cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Proficiency with data processing frameworks such as Databricks and MS Fabric for large-scale data solutions
- Skills in SQL and Python for data engineering and analytics tasks
- Competency in Master Data Management, data governance, and data quality tools to ensure reliable and accurate data
- Familiarity with AI/ML technologies, including natural language processing and computer vision
- Understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, and practices for quality-focused software development
- Knowledge of data architecture, data lifecycle management, and enterprise data product design
- Hands-on experience delivering large-scale data solutions, including data lakes, analytics platforms, and reporting systems
- Strong analytical abilities with a track record of designing and implementing innovative data solutions
- Background in effective collaboration with technical and business stakeholders to define and execute data strategies
- History of managing complex data projects and delivering measurable business results
- Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Fluency in English communication skills at the C1 level, both written and spoken
- Expertise in consulting, including stakeholder management, client relationship development, and communicating technical topics clearly
- Flexibility to stay informed about industry trends, conduct market and competitor analysis, and implement findings into strategic planning
