Company Introduction
This opportunity is with one of the nation's largest mechanical and electrical contracting firms, with more than 75 years of experience delivering innovative HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, and electrical solutions. The company specializes in major construction projects for hyperscale data centers, hospitals, life sciences facilities, and high-rise commercial buildings, earning a reputation for safety, precision, and high-quality workmanship.
The company fosters a collaborative, growth-focused culture where employees refine their skills, share knowledge, and advance within a supportive team environment.
Role Overview
The Electrical VDC Detailer will focus on producing fabrication-level BIM models, shop drawings, spool sheets, and installation drawings for major electrical systems to support field installation and prefabrication efforts. This role is electrical-centric, serving as a technical lead who provides guidance to less experienced detailers and helps drive coordination across disciplines.
The role works closely with project managers, engineers, field supervisors, and fabrication teams to ensure electrical systems are coordinated, install-ready, and aligned with project schedules. This is a fully remote position with a nationwide team.

- Create and maintain detailed Revit models for electrical systems aligned with company BIM standards and project specifications
- Produce accurate shop drawings, spool drawings, and fabrication-level details directly from models
- Coordinate models across multiple disciplines including architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and other MEP trades
- Manage clash detection and coordination using Navisworks with an emphasis on electrical constructability
- Support prefabrication and modular delivery by generating install-ready details and collaborating with fabrication teams
- Incorporate markups, RFIs, and as-built changes into models to maintain accuracy through project closeout
- Ensure version control and timely distribution of model updates to all stakeholders
- Serve as a technical lead to less experienced Detailers, delegating work and providing coaching and performance feedback
- Assist in developing and improving internal BIM standards, templates, and workflows
- Provide constructability feedback during design-assist and design-build projects and collaborate with estimating and procurement teams when needed
- Attend and participate in construction meetings, coordination meetings, and project reviews as required
