Overview
Are you a forward-thinking professional with a strong background in Data and AI? Join as a Data & AI Consultant in the Consumer & Retail practice and bridge the gap between business problems and real, adopted data and AI solutions. Work from the first client conversation through to production, collaborating with engineers and data scientists to deliver measurable business impact.
You won’t be writing code or building models, but you will need enough technical fluency to define precise requirements, assess what is feasible and hold your ground in a conversation with an architect or a data scientist.
Responsibilities
- Shape pursuits and proposals by defining problems, scoping approaches and building value narratives for Consumer & Retail clients
- Lead client discovery workshops with senior stakeholders to frame real business problems and define successful outcomes
- Build business cases by identifying, prioritising and sizing data and AI use cases, translating them into KPIs, investment rationale and delivery roadmaps
- Own the workstream end-to-end, covering requirements, backlog, data readiness, governance and value tracking through to adoption
- Brief Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Solution Architects to design scalable solutions, defining the what and why
- Produce clear executive-level materials and present recommendations to leadership
- Translate business needs into precise technical requirements and assess feasibility
- Track value and ensure solutions are adopted, not just delivered
- Facilitate communication between client stakeholders and technical teams
- Support delivery of typical Consumer & Retail analytics problems such as pricing, promotions, merchandising, customer growth and supply chain analytics
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Deep expertise in Consumer & Retail, gained in-industry or through consulting with retailers, CPG, eCommerce or wholesale clients
- Consulting experience with structured problem-solving, stakeholder management and executive-level communication
- Data and AI literacy to define requirements, KPIs and translate between business and technical audiences
- End-to-end delivery experience from problem framing and business case to adoption
- Ability to facilitate workshops and frame business problems
- Strong communication skills for presenting to leadership and technical teams
- Experience managing workstreams and tracking value through to adoption
- Comfort with ambiguity and ownership of outcomes
- Proactive, collaborative and customer-focused approach
Nice to have
- Familiarity with major cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP or AWS
- Experience with advanced analytics or GenAI patterns in Consumer & Retail
- Knowledge of enterprise platforms like SAP, Salesforce or major ERP and CRM systems
- Background in data governance, data quality frameworks or operating model design
- Agile delivery or product management experience
- Change management and adoption skills
