Overview

We're looking for a Principal Consultant – Energy Transition & Markets to join our team in London, United Kingdom, in a remote working mode with significant client travel. This is a practitioner-led, commercially accountable role focused on strategic engagement within the UK energy sector. You will leverage strong expertise across Renewables, Utilities, Power & Gas Markets, and Energy Trading & Risk Management to connect complex business challenges with EPAM’s digital engineering capabilities. • Navigate complex client organisations to identify decision-makers, budget holders and internal influencers
  • Position EPAM as a trusted strategic partner rather than a vendor within new and existing accounts
  • Provide consultancy across one or more focus areas: renewables integration, grid modernisation, ETRM platform optimisation, or market operations
  • Lead discovery sessions and “Art of the Possible” workshops to translate client pain points into digital solutions
  • Represent EPAM at major industry events and forums including CERAWeek, ADIPEC, Energy UK and Utility Week
  • Collaborate with solution architects and delivery teams to craft competitive proposals
  • Originate and qualify new business opportunities while expanding revenue within established accounts
  • Build and maintain a sales pipeline aligned to revenue targets and multi-quarter visibility
  • Drive EPAM’s footprint expansion from IT services into core business-critical functions

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in the energy sector, preferably including consulting or advisory roles
  • Deep expertise in at least one area: renewables, utilities/networks, energy trading and risk management, or power and gas markets
  • Proven network of director or VP-level contacts across UK energy operators, utilities, trading firms or energy retailers
  • Background in a major consultancy or specialised energy advisory firm highly desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, computer science or business; MBA or relevant master’s preferred
  • Strong digital fluency, including knowledge of AI-driven optimisation, cloud-based platforms, digital twin technology and data solutions
  • Commercial acumen with ability to own a revenue target and drive account growth

Nice to have

  • Experience leading board-level workshops and shaping large digital transformation programmes
  • Familiarity with UK energy regulation and compliance frameworks such as Ofgem and RIIO
