Overview

We are looking for a Lead Ruby on Rails Engineer to join a Product & Development organization building a market-leading enterprise integration and automation platform.

The product operates in the iPaaS space, helping global organizations connect business systems, automate complex workflows and accelerate digital transformation. The platform is also investing heavily in AI / ML / MLOps capabilities to deliver smarter, more efficient and data-driven solutions at scale.

This is a key engineering role for someone who enjoys combining hands-on development with technical leadership, architecture ownership and mentoring high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of robust Ruby on Rails applications and backend services
  • Own technical solutions for features related to integrations, automation and AI-driven functionality
  • Define scalable architecture patterns and ensure long-term maintainability of systems
  • Guide and mentor engineers through code reviews, technical coaching and best practices
  • Build clean, testable and high-quality code using TDD/BDD approaches
  • Optimize PostgreSQL databases, improve query performance and support data-intensive workloads
  • Partner with Product Managers, Architects and distributed engineering teams to deliver business value
  • Drive continuous improvement across development workflows, CI/CD quality and release processes
  • Take ownership of critical initiatives from concept through production delivery

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails
  • Proven success in delivering and scaling production-grade web platforms
  • Experience leading engineers or acting as a technical owner for complex projects
  • Deep expertise with PostgreSQL including schema design, query tuning and complex SQL
  • Strong background in automated testing with RSpec, TDD and BDD methodologies
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, performance and reliability principles
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively and lead by example
  • Strong English (B2+) communication skills in an international environment

Nice to have

  • Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
  • Familiarity with Redis and distributed caching patterns
  • Exposure to ClickHouse or other analytical databases
  • Frontend knowledge with JavaScript, React, Angular or Vue.js
  • Experience with async/background processing tools such as Sidekiq or RabbitMQ
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps culture and Git-based workflows
  • Experience working in fast-paced product companies or SaaS environments
