Overview

We're looking for a KDB Developer to join our team in Lisbon, Portugal, in a hybrid working mode. The role focuses on maintaining, evolving and optimizing a production-grade data platform that supports electronic equities market data. You will design, build and maintain high-performance KDB+/q applications for data ingestion, transformation, storage and retrieval, enabling low-latency analytics across the firm. This position provides an opportunity to work closely with traders, quantitative analysts and IT teams to deliver reliable, real-time data solutions that power analytics and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and refine requirements
  • Develop business-focused dashboards using Tableau or Python frameworks such as Plotly and Streamlit or through official analytics pipelines
  • Design, code, test and deploy KDB+/q services for data enrichment and presentation
  • Profile and optimize KDB queries to improve performance and reduce bottlenecks
  • Participate in on-call rotations, address production incidents and perform root cause analysis
  • Document code, processes and procedures for effective knowledge sharing and continuity
  • Contribute to automated unit, integration and performance testing as well as CI pipelines
  • Implement schema validation and outlier detection checks to ensure data quality

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of software development experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Experience working with electronic trading platforms or other high-load real-time systems
  • Familiarity with KDB+/q development for data-intensive applications
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks
  • Experience in building dashboards with Tableau or Python visualization libraries is beneficial
  • Understanding of CI/CD and automated testing principles
