Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Data Analytics Principal/Director to serve as a trusted partner to senior client executives (CTOs, CIOs, Managing Directors, Regional VPs) in Financial Services organizations. This role combines three critical capabilities: deep data and AI technology knowledge, strong consulting acumen, as well as a proven track record in program/delivery management. You will lead our Financial Services Offering portfolio in Europe, including buildout of capabilities, teams, and go-to-market strategies in partnership with other EPAM teams, and spearhead key engagements from sales, consulting, and delivery oversight perspective.

Responsibilities
- Partner with client executives on key Data & AI initiatives, such as data strategy, enterprise-wide platforms build, and AI transformations
- Actively contribute to the development and evolution of Financial Services D&A offerings, act as a go-to person in the region
- Nurture opportunities; own RPF/RFQ/RFI responses, including winning strategy, formal response structure, and storytelling
- Manage the FS project portfolio, provide regular delivery oversight for key engagements
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships centered around value delivery
- Lead initial phases of strategic engagements, including setting up program vision and definition of success, forming the right team, and establishing governance
- Consult delivery teams on regulatory and compliance requirements in the financial sector context
- Coach and mentor next-gen consultants in FS D&A
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive experience in data technology and consulting
- Prior experience in management roles (Senior manager / Director / Senior director) at financial institutions, consulting agencies, or similar advisory organizations supporting financial services clients
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Mathematics, or similar quantitative fields is highly valued
- Consultative Background: Client-facing expertise with the ability to position services, lead C-level discussions, and function as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders
- Data Technology Expertise: Experience with at least one major cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP), including implementation track record. Familiarity with Databricks and other cloud-agnostic data platforms.
- Production experience: Leading discovery phases, establishing program governance, and managing complex data delivery programs
- Financial Services Domain Knowledge: Proven experience in banking (investment banking or core banking) with an understanding of data models, processing systems, and regulations. Familiarity with key banking KPIs and data structures
- Knowledge of industry-specific compliance and regulatory frameworks (Basel 2/3, BCBS 239, AML/AFC); understanding of risk management, CRO office operations, etc.
- Data Architecture: Understanding of data modelling, different data lifecycle management approaches, and real-time processing.
- Data Governance: understanding of data governance principles, computational governance, data catalogs, and observability frameworks
- Enterprise Architecture: demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions on an enterprise scale with senior stakeholders
- Computer Science Fundamentals: Solid knowledge of information theory, algorithms, data structures, search algorithms, etc.
