Overview
We're looking for a SAP MDG Solution Architect to join our team in Barcelona, Spain in a hybrid working mode.
The SAP MDG Solution Architect will define the end-to-end Product MDM target landscape covering Component 1–2–3 flows, guiding deliverables from blueprint through pilot build. This senior role partners with enterprise architects, SAP CoE and Polaris/S4 stakeholders to produce the Target Architecture Blueprint, integration strategy and MDG data model design.
The architect will translate business objectives into resilient technical patterns across SAP MDG (S/4 2021), SAP BTP (CI/Integration Suite, Launchpad, Work Zone), Snowflake and peripheral platforms. Responsibilities include leading architecture deep-dives, establishing design authority guardrails, steering non-functional requirements (performance, security, availability) and ensuring compliance with integration/API standards, data protection and regulatory controls.
The role involves mentoring solution designers, reviewing functional specifications in Solution Manager and governing POCs for UX, workflow and AI-enrichment feasibility. Expect heavy engagement in current-state assessment, interface catalog harmonization and migration approach validation.
Responsibilities
- Define the end-to-end Product MDM target landscape and integration strategy
- Produce the Target Architecture Blueprint and MDG data model design
- Lead architecture deep-dives and establish design authority guardrails
- Translate business objectives into technical patterns across SAP MDG, SAP BTP, Snowflake and related platforms
- Govern non-functional requirements including performance, security and availability
- Ensure compliance with integration/API standards, data protection and regulatory controls
- Mentor solution designers and review functional specifications in Solution Manager
- Oversee POCs for UX, workflow and AI-enrichment feasibility
- Conduct current-state assessments and harmonize interface catalogs
- Validate migration approaches and ensure future-proof design for rollout waves
Requirements
- 15+ years in enterprise architecture with at least 10 years specializing in SAP MDM/MDG and complex integration landscapes
- Expertise in SAP MDG (S/4 2021), SAP BTP (CI/Integration Suite, Launchpad, Work Zone) and Snowflake
- Strong knowledge of SAP Event Mesh, API management, workflow/rule frameworks and data-quality tooling (MDG DQM, SAP Information Steward)
- Experience in defining non-functional requirements and ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards
- Proven ability to lead architecture governance and design authority processes
- Familiarity with Solution Manager for reviewing functional specifications
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- TOGAF, SAP Certified Technology Specialist or equivalent credentials preferred
