Overview

As an Accounts Receivable (Collection) Specialist, you will join the Revenue Accounting & Collection team, a global financial department supporting our clients worldwide and adhering to international financial reporting standards. You will be an integral part of EPAM’s Global Finance department, specifically working within the Business Partnering Services team. Collaborating with over 300+ experts, you will play a vital role in expanding the business and driving our financial growth.

The scope of the position consists of contacting customers and EPAM business to arrange timely debt payoffs through various means, e.g., written correspondence, phone contact, skip-tracing, and initiation of process improvements on the accounts, general ledger double entries, and other accounts receivable-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Collect all outstanding items due on assigned accounts
  • Communicate with customers and businesses via email or telephone regarding overdue accounts, determining reasons for non-payment and analyzing overdue receivables
  • Provide responses to client-reported issues, escalate unresolved problems to appropriate departments, and monitor resolutions
  • Prepare financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status
  • Respond to customer and business inquiries while initiating appropriate actions
  • Maintain accurate records in the collection system and report on collection activities, upcoming payments, and account receivable status
  • Process customer payments (bank postings) and reconcile account balances to ensure accuracy
  • Prepare and record provisions for doubtful accounts or non-collections
  • Maintain vendor forms and ensure consistency in records
  • Create and verify monthly and quarterly reports, performing internal checks and ensuring accuracy in accounting records
  • Perform customer credit analysis based on financial documentation, payment history, account balances, and external data
  • Achieve monthly cash collection targets by ensuring efficient follow-up and resolution processes
  • Assist with annual and interim audit requests by providing necessary documentation and input
  • Ensure adherence to process compliance with corporate policies and regulatory guidelines

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Collection Specialist or similar role with a demonstrated track record
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with excellent English proficiency at B2+ level
  • Knowledge of order-to-cash procedures and basic understanding of collection techniques, including skip tracing
  • Competency in addressing overdue accounts and resolving financial discrepancies with customers or internal teams
  • Readiness to shift working hours 12 PM – 9 PM (UTC+6) / 11 AM – 8 PM (UTC+5)

Nice to have

  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills for resolving customer account issues
  • Negotiating skills for engaging effectively with customers regarding outstanding receivables
  • High school diploma, with an associate’s or bachelor’s degree considered a plus
  • Familiarity with MS Office tools, enabling efficient document management and reporting
