Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Lead Performance Tester with deep expertise in scalability and load testing.
In this position, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and automating solutions to thoroughly assess the performance and resilience of our platform under a variety of load scenarios, with a particular focus on store scalability and stability. You will leverage advanced tools and methodologies to ensure our client remains at the forefront of high-performance ecommerce.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain tools for generating realistic, scalable store test scenarios for performance and load testing
- Plan, execute, and analyze load tests using tools like K6 to uncover performance bottlenecks and scalability challenges, especially in store operations
- Automate the collection and reporting of performance metrics to deliver clear, actionable insights and proactively detect regressions
- Work closely with engineering teams to understand system architecture, pinpoint critical performance paths, and provide data-driven recommendations for optimization
- Drive the continuous improvement of load testing strategies, tools, and best practices within the Platform Governance team
- Thoroughly document test plans, results, and key findings
- Address and resolve identified platform bottlenecks to enhance system performance
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in scalability and performance testing, including expertise in load generation, monitoring, and analysis
- At least one year of experience leading and managing development teams
- Direct experience with load testing tools, particularly K6
- Proficiency in at least two of the following programming languages: Go, Scala, and Typescript, and willingness to work with all three as needed
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and ELK
- Proven ability to build and maintain automation for testing, data collection, and reporting
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure, and experience with microservices architectures
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
- Fluent English skills (written and spoken) at a B2+ level or higher
