Overview
We are looking for a Product Owner to guide the delivery of backend product capabilities in a SAFe Agile setup using data and AI-assisted specs. You will refine stories, align distributed teams, and partner with engineers and stakeholders across APIs, SQL, and AWS-based architectures. Apply to help us ship high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize and maintain the product backlog by breaking features into user stories and acceptance criteria through AI-assisted workflows
- Collaborate with Product Managers to influence product strategy and roadmaps, and propose ideas to improve the product
- Drive execution of product features across distributed teams by tracking and resolving cross-team dependencies
- Coordinate with engineering on backend components such as sequence diagrams, event flows, and API specifications using a contract-first approach
- Create and review basic SQL queries to analyze data contracts, mappings, and flows across systems
- Assess cloud platform concepts like AWS to support deployment, scalability, and infrastructure decisions
- Work with architects and developers to evaluate technical trade-offs and convert them into actionable backlog items
- Use AI tools like Claude daily to draft, refine, and validate product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Monitor AI and large language model (LLM) developments to improve team efficiency and product quality
- Align communication across distributed teams while coordinating cross-team dependencies and delivery timelines
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert in client engagements and partner with internal stakeholders to clarify product and customer needs
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst, especially on backend systems such as APIs, integration-heavy architectures, or distributed components
- Working knowledge of backend component documentation, including sequence diagrams, event flows, and API specifications, using contract-first principles
- Hands-on experience with SQL, data contracts, and data mapping, with familiarity in data analytics
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, serverless, and event-driven patterns used in development
- Demonstrated experience in large programs that require collaboration with multiple distributed teams and cross-team alignment
- Solid understanding of SAFe Agile concepts, including roles, ceremonies, PI planning, and program-level artifacts
- Proven stakeholder management and communication skills, collaborating effectively with engineers, Product Owners, Product Managers, architects, and clients
- English proficiency at a B2+ level (Upper-Intermediate) in writing and speaking
Nice to have
- Background with system-to-system integrations, vendor or partner APIs, and event-driven processing
- Ability to test APIs using tools like Postman, including authenticated requests and response validation
- Practical use of AI tools like Claude for spec development, data analysis, and workflow optimization, including strong prompting and evaluation of AI-generated outputs
