Overview

We are seeking a Senior Atlassian Developer to join our team as a contractor.

This role is focused on the design, optimization, and ongoing management of our Atlassian ecosystem, with a strong emphasis on Jira administration, workflow automation, and Jira Service Management (JSM). You will play a key part in enabling scalable, standardized, and automated processes across engineering and operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable Jira workflows for various issue types and business processes
  • Build and maintain Jira projects, including configuration of schemes for permissions, notifications, and screens, as well as custom fields
  • Develop and standardize templates, forms, and request types within Jira Service Management (JSM)
  • Extend Jira functionality using REST APIs, automation rules, and custom plugins where needed
  • Integrate Jira with external systems such as CI/CD tools, identity management platforms, and developer environments
  • Support reporting and analytics by creating dashboards, queries, SLAs, and operational metrics
  • Perform ongoing maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of the Atlassian environment
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to translate business requirements into scalable Jira solutions

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience administering and configuring Atlassian Jira
  • Strong expertise in designing and managing Jira workflows, issue types, screens, and permission schemes
  • Proven experience with Jira Service Management (JSM), including configuration of request types, SLAs, and service workflows
  • Experience designing automation workflows to support software delivery (CI/CD, release management) and operational processes
  • Hands-on experience with Atlassian REST APIs and integrating Jira with other systems
  • Proficiency in building advanced Jira queries, dashboards, and reports for analytics and operational insights
  • Solid understanding of Agile development methodologies and related tooling
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and system optimization abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration
  • Fluent English skills (written and spoken) at a B2+ level or higher

Nice to have

  • Experience extending Jira functionality using the Atlassian Plugin SDK or marketplace applications
  • Familiarity with Confluence and other tools in the Atlassian ecosystem
  • Experience integrating Jira with enterprise tools such as GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
  • Background in implementing governance models for large-scale Jira deployments
  • Experience working in enterprise environments with multiple teams and complex workflows
  • Exposure to compliance-driven environments, including regulated industries and audit requirements
