Overview
We are looking for an Atlassian Developer to join our team on a contract basis.
In this position, you will focus on enhancing, streamlining, and supporting our Atlassian ecosystem, with a primary emphasis on Jira administration, workflow automation, and Jira Service Management (JSM). Your contributions will help establish scalable, standardized, and automated processes for engineering and operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Create and optimize Jira workflows to support a variety of issue types and business processes
- Set up and manage Jira projects, including permissions, notifications, screens, and custom fields
- Build and refine templates, forms, and request types in Jira Service Management (JSM)
- Expand Jira capabilities through REST APIs, automation rules, and custom plugins as needed
- Connect Jira with external platforms such as CI/CD tools, identity management systems, and developer environments
- Develop dashboards, queries, SLAs, and operational metrics to support reporting and analytics
- Conduct regular maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance improvements for the Atlassian environment
- Work with engineering, product, and operations teams to turn business requirements into effective Jira solutions
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Atlassian Jira administration and configuration
- Strong skills in designing and managing Jira workflows, issue types, screens, and permission schemes
- Demonstrated experience with Jira Service Management (JSM), including setting up request types, SLAs, and service workflows
- Ability to design automation workflows for software delivery and operational processes, such as CI/CD and release management
- Practical experience with Atlassian REST APIs and integrating Jira with other systems
- Skilled in creating advanced Jira queries, dashboards, and reports for operational and analytical needs
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies and related tools
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and system optimization skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective teamwork
- English proficiency (written and spoken) at B2+ level or higher
Nice to have
- Experience with the Atlassian Plugin SDK or marketplace apps to extend Jira functionality
- Knowledge of Confluence and other Atlassian tools
- Experience integrating Jira with enterprise platforms like GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
- Background in establishing governance models for large Jira environments
- Experience in enterprise settings with multiple teams and complex workflows
- Familiarity with compliance-driven environments, such as regulated industries or audit requirements
