About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Applied AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI-driven solutions that solve real-world business problems. This role sits at the intersection of machine learning, software engineering, and product development, focusing on taking AI models from concept to production.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate AI into products, optimise performance, and deliver scalable, high-impact solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models into production environments
  • Work with large language models (LLMs), generative AI, and traditional ML systems
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and model training workflows
  • Integrate AI capabilities into applications via APIs and microservices
  • Fine-tune and optimise models for performance, scalability, and cost
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to define AI use cases
  • Monitor model performance and continuously improve outputs
  • Ensure best practices in AI governance, ethics, and data privacy

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, or related field
  • 3+ years' experience in AI/ML engineering or related roles
  • Strong programming skills in Python (essential)
  • Experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, LLaMA) and prompt engineering
  • Experience building and deploying models in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, and scalable system design
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles

Advantageous Skills

  • Experience with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures
  • Knowledge of vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS)
  • Exposure to MLOps tools (MLflow, Airflow, Kubeflow)
  • Experience with real-time AI applications (chatbots, recommendation systems, automation)
  • Understanding of AI ethics, bias, and responsible AI practices
