Overview

We are seeking a Core Banking Solution Architect to support our UK-based client in expanding their Core Banking Architecture capability. This role is pivotal in delivering essential services across customers, accounts, pricing, transactions and all core banking products that drive daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Produce functional architecture for Core Banking projects
  • Review engineering designs to ensure alignment with architecture patterns and standards
  • Validate alignment with client strategies across Retail, Corporate and Group
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver solutions in an agile environment
  • Define As-Is and Target architectures and deliver strategic roadmaps
  • Design logical components, interactions, decommissioning and archival solutions
  • Align engineering designs with published enterprise architecture
  • Conduct peer reviews to ensure architectural integrity and compliance with standards
  • Engage stakeholders and communicate effectively
  • Demonstrate ownership, thought leadership and initiative

Requirements

  • 3+ years working as a Solution Architect within complex financial services
  • Knowledge of Core Banking domain including retail banking products, business segmentation and personal account onboarding processes
  • Expertise in Core Banking systems covering customers, accounts, pricing and transactions
  • Proficiency in APIs, authentication, RESTful API design and event-driven architecture
  • Background in domain-driven design with knowledge of BIAN, TOGAF and ArchiMate
  • Capability to define strategic roadmaps and architectural solutions
  • Competency in designing logical components and interactions
  • Skills in aligning engineering designs with enterprise architecture
  • Showcase of peer review expertise for architectural integrity
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of C4 modeling
  • Experience with Abacus or similar architecture tooling
  • Familiarity with microservices, API integration patterns and AWS or cloud concepts
  • Experience in global banking or large-scale transformation programmes
  • Knowledge of Core Banking systems and COTS Core Banking products
