Overview

We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to drive AI/ML-powered solutions and tackle challenging projects across diverse domains. This role demands a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and an innovative mindset to deliver cutting-edge solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Shape AI/ML-driven solutions for EPAM’s clients and teams
  • Propose solutions and strategies to address business challenges
  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Ensure effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver business value
  • Stay updated with advancements in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of production experience in Data Science and Machine Learning
  • Track record of leading and mentoring engineering teams
  • Expertise in at least one domain: Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLM), Machine Learning Engineering, Time Series Analysis, Generative AI (GenAI)
  • Proficiency in Deep Learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Background in the Python ecosystem and data science libraries including pandas, scikit-learn, numpy
  • Skills in handling time series data and developing predictive models
  • Familiarity with deploying and optimizing LLMs and GenAI solutions in real-world applications

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Skills in communication and presentation to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Fluency in English at a minimum B2 level
  • Familiarity with New Relic and PagerDuty
