Overview

We are seeking a Lead Java/Scala Developer to implement backend solutions supporting investment and trading processes within a hedge fund setting.

This role expects strong software design skills, leadership experience and the ability to contribute within complex, large-scale operational systems using AI-powered tools.

The position is based in Spain, with relocation support available for qualified candidates currently located in Turkey. Learn more about the benefits EPAM Spain provides in the description below.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hedge funds stakeholders and develop project solutions
  • Shape system architecture, guide delivery and build Scala-based services
  • Work closely with technology, design and platform engineering teams

Requirements

  • Leading the project teams for at least 1 year
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience (Java, .NET)
  • Strong computer science fundamentals with a mastery of backend development
  • Solid algorithmic and debugging skills
  • Excellent design capabilities (with the security focus, OOD, SOLID, GRASP, KISS, YAGNI, DRY, etc.)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and SDLC patterns
  • B2+ English level proficiency
