Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Performance Test Engineer to ensure our data processing pipelines and core infrastructure remain stable, scalable, and reliable within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in performance testing methodologies, coding abilities, and hands-on experience with monitoring and logging solutions in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a suite of performance tests, including load, stress, and endurance tests targeting GCP-hosted data processing pipelines
  • Set up and maintain robust logging and monitoring infrastructure in GCP, using tools like Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, or Grafana
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and gather granular performance metrics, analyzing data to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities
  • Create detailed reports summarizing test results, analysis, and recommendations for engineering teams and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and QAs to reproduce issues, address performance concerns, and recommend architectural improvements
  • Investigate and troubleshoot identified performance issues

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Performance Test Engineer with a focus on GCP
  • Understanding of core GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery and their impact on performance
  • Proficiency in setting up and utilizing GCP Cloud Logging and GCP Cloud Monitoring, including creating custom metrics and dashboards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English at a B2+ level
