As Senior Cloud Services Engineer, you will be responsible for the architecture, planning, implementation, and maintenance of database systems, working with development teams to design and implement complex database layouts and strategies. You will also be responsible for performance monitoring and tuning, and applying new technologies and techniques to improve production systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, Math or technical field or equivalent combined work experience
- 7+ years working with relational database systems
- 5+ years Database Design / Data Modeling
- 5+ years Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and newer
- 3+ years Azure SQL Managed Instance and Azure SQL Database
- 5+ years working in a high demand 24x7 web environment
- 5+ years writing, optimizing, and supporting T-SQL
- 5+ years’ experience with performance monitoring and tuning tools
- Deep understanding of T-SQL execution plans
- Proven success identifying and proposing solutions to performance problems
- Advanced experience managing database security
- Advanced experience automating tasks with SQL Agent and Azure Automation PowerShell Runbooks
- Experience creating and enforcing data and database coding standards
- Experience creating technical documentation
- Ability to work across functional groups, development, operations, configuration management, end users, and program managers on multiple projects
