The Senior Business Manager – Food Contact is responsible for driving profitable growth within the Food Contact division by combining aluminum market expertise, customer facing commercial support, and business development leadership.

This role serves as the Food Contact division’s aluminum subject matter expert with customers but also internally, while also partnering with cross functional teams on new business development, new product and application growth, and foodservice and processor/distribution channel expansion.

The position is designed for a lean, operationally focused organization and works closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Operations to ensure growth initiatives are commercially sound and operationally executable.

Customer Facing Market & Aluminum Expertise
  • Act as the company’s credible, customer facing expert on aluminum and related market dynamics and respond to customer challenges and questions.
  • Support strategic customer conversations including:
  • Pricing adjustments
  • Annual Locks
  • Volatile market conditions
  • Develops market update newsletters published monthly for distribution
  • Partner closely with Sales to:
  • Strengthen pricing conversations
  • Improve customer understanding and acceptance
  • Maintain trust during difficult market environments
  • Ensure customers see us as disciplined, transparent, and knowledgeable, not reactive
Business Development & Growth Initiatives
  • Identify and develop new growth opportunities within the Food Contact division, including:
  • New items and product extensions
  • New customer applications
  • New markets or adjacencies aligned with our capabilities
  • Work cross functionally with Product Development, Operations, and Sales to:
  • Prioritize the right opportunities
  • Align innovation with real customer demand
  • Build clear, practical business cases for new initiatives
  • Support commercialization and launch of new products and programs
  • Help ensure growth is intentional, profitable, and operationally sound
Foodservice & Distribution Channel Leadership
  • Serve as the commercial lead for the foodservice channel, including:
  • Foodservice processors
  • Distributors
  • Channel specific customers
  • Act as the internal expert on foodservice economics and distributor models
  • Support Sales in pursuing foodservice opportunities
Other duties as assigned by management.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in aluminum based or commodity exposed manufacturing
  • Demonstrated experience with aluminum markets and cost structures and customer facing commercial or business development roles
  • Proven ability to communicate complex market information clearly and build credibility with customers and internal teams
  • Experience working cross functionally
Preferred education and experience
  • Experience with aluminum, packaging, or commodity driven cost structures
  • Exposure to foodservice, processor, or distributor based business models
  • Track record of supporting profitable growth initiatives
