The Instrumentation & Controls Engineering organization is responsible for design engineering of safety related and non-safety related digital instrumentation and control (I&C) systems. The position possesses excellent knowledge of functional disciplines and their practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations. The position is responsible for making technical decisions regarding I&C system design and application to ensure compliance with NRC regulatory criteria.
Requirements
- Applies expert level engineering principles, techniques and practices in the preparation and/or review of I&C system design work products
- Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of engineering work
- Develops departmental R&D needs and contributes to methodology development
- Provides mentoring and technical direction to less experienced engineers
- Serves as a technical lead for the design of systems, structures, and components
- Regularly interacts with directors and/or major clients
- Creates formal networks and may serve as an internal and/or external spokesperson for the organization regarding specialized projects or programs
- Provides oversight and direction to key suppliers of I&C systems and components
- Acts as a primary interface to regulatory agencies concerning I&C design principles of assigned I&C systems
- Performs other duties as assigned
