Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a remote team focused on news and content platforms, working closely with business stakeholders in a fast-moving newsroom-type environment. The role centers on requirements discovery, prioritization and translation, partnering with senior stakeholders and engineering to organize, refine and evolve the product vision. Initial focus will be on stabilization and BAU activities, evolving toward hyper-personalization of content and AI-driven content generation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements discovery and gathering for a high-stakes news/content product
  • Translate newsroom and content-producer workflows into clear, actionable requirements
  • Write high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria tailored to content creators, editors and consumers
  • Ensure requirements support a consumer-focused, content-first website
  • Own backlog refinement in collaboration with the Lead Engineer
  • Prioritize work based on newsroom needs, SEO impact, performance and business value
  • Adapt quickly as priorities shift in a flexible and dynamic manner
  • Collaborate daily with the senior stakeholder and her team, acting as a bridge between business, newsroom, analytics and engineering
  • Communicate trade-offs, dependencies and changes clearly
  • Monitor analytics and success metrics to identify pain points and improvement opportunities
  • Translate requirements clearly to the engineering team and support Agile hygiene including refinement, sprint planning and reviews
  • Remain calm and effective under pressure in a high-change environment

Requirements

  • 3+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst on news, media or content-heavy platforms
  • Understanding of content, newsroom or editorial workflows (news product experience required, not conference, events or static content sites)
  • Experience with WordPress or similar CMS platforms
  • Background in working closely with engineering teams
  • Working knowledge of Amplitude and web analytics to inform requirements and prioritization
  • Capability to operate in fast-moving, high-visibility environments
  • Skills in Agile methodologies including backlog refinement, sprint planning and reviews
  • Highly organized, analytical and articulate, with confidence working with senior stakeholders and technical leads
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher
