JOB DESCRIPTION - AUTOMATIONS & AI INTEGRATION EXPERT

DAYSHIFT, REMOTE (Sri-Lanka based)

Reports To: Managing Director / Head of Operations / CTO

Location: Australia-based company (Remote – Sri Lanka based contractor)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly capable Automation & AI Integration Specialist to design, build, and deploy scalable automation systems that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual workload, and enable smarter decision-making across the business.

This is a hands-on builder role, not a support function. You will take ownership of automation

initiatives—from identifying opportunities to delivering production-ready solutions that directly

impact business performance.

You will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, integrate

systems, and implement AI-powered tools across operations, marketing, finance, and customer

experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

AI Integration & Automation

  • Design and implement automation workflows to eliminate repetitive manual tasks
  • Integrate AI tools and large language models (LLMs) (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) into

business processes

  • Build intelligent solutions for document processing, reporting, and internal communications
  • Develop AI-powered assistants, chatbots, and workflow automations

Systems & Software Development

  • Build and maintain internal tools, web apps, and automation systems
  • Develop APIs and integrate multiple platforms (CRM, ERP, marketing tools, finance systems)
  • Customize and extend existing systems to improve efficiency and usability
  • Own the full development lifecycle: planning, development, testing, deployment, and

optimization

Workflow Automation & Integrations

  • Create end-to-end workflows using tools like Zapier, Make (Integromat), n8n, or similar
  • Connect business systems (e.g., CRM, email, project management, accounting platforms)
  • Optimize and maintain automation pipelines to ensure reliability and scalability

Data & Reporting

  • Build dashboards and automated reporting systems for business insights
  • Design data pipelines to track KPIs, performance metrics, and operational data
  • Support leadership with data-driven decision-making tools

IT Systems & Optimization

  • Manage and optimize digital tools, user access, and system performance
  • Ensure best practices in data security, privacy, and system integrity
  • Support onboarding/offboarding processes related to system access and automation

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 3–5+ years experience in automation, software development, or systems integration
  • Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/Node.js)
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools (Zapier, Make, n8n, or similar)
  • Experience integrating APIs and working with RESTful services
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM tools (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) and prompt design
  • Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and data handling
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills (ability to explain technical concepts clearly)

NICE-TO-HAVE (HIGHLY REGARDED)

  • Experience in SaaS, BPO, outsourcing, or service-based industries
  • Familiarity with platforms like Xero, HubSpot, Salesforce, or Zoho
  • Experience with no-code/low-code tools (Bubble, Webflow, Airtable, etc.)
  • Knowledge of AI agents, RAG pipelines, or advanced prompt engineering
  • Experience building dashboards (Power BI, Looker, Tableau, or similar)
  • Mobile or web app development experience (React, Flutter, etc.)
