Last Level Studios is a start-up Roblox development studio creating 3D interactive social experiences on the platform.

We're looking for a full-time gameplay engineer to join us. You may work on both internal projects and client projects, developing gameplay systems, mechanics, and features that bring social experiences to life in the Roblox metaverse.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement core mechanics, player progression, and UI systems using Luau or TypeScript with Git source control and Roblox Studio.

  • Build and maintain game logic, player data systems, and monetization mechanics (virtual economies) using Roblox services.

  • Optimize gameplay for various devices and network conditions, and debug game systems.

  • Partner with designers and artists to translate creative concepts into functional features.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

  • Designing secure server-client architecture to prevent exploits and cheating.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Roblox development experience with Roblox Lua/Luau code.

  • A strong foundation in software development and problem-solving.

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills while working remotely.

  • Eagerness to learn and develop new technical skills, experimenting with new Roblox features.

  • Physically located within the UK with the Right to Work in the United Kingdom without sponsorship.

Nice to Have

  • A Bachelor's degree in a STEM subject.

  • Experience working in a remote development team.

  • Familiarity with Git source control.

  • Typescript experience, ideally with roblox-ts.

  • React experience, or similar reactive UI libraries.

  • Practice with the following Roblox features:

    • Server Authority APIs

    • UI StyleSheets and StyleLinks

    • Open Cloud APIs for publishing assets and games

    • Advanced Video and Audio Wire APIs

  • Physics, engineering or robotics knowledge.
