Overview
We are building a Lead Business Analyst role for news and content platforms, partnering with senior stakeholders in a rapid, newsroom-style environment. You will drive requirements discovery, prioritization and clear translation into delivery with engineering, starting with stabilization and BAU before moving toward hyper-personalization and AI-driven content generation. Responsibilities
- Lead requirements discovery and elicitation for a high-stakes news/content product
- Convert newsroom and content-producer workflows into clear, actionable requirements
- Draft high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria tailored to content creators, editors and consumers
- Ensure requirements reinforce a consumer-focused, content-first website
- Drive backlog refinement in collaboration with the Lead Engineer
- Prioritize work based on newsroom needs, SEO impact, performance and business value
- Adjust quickly as priorities shift, staying effective in a flexible and dynamic setting
- Collaborate daily with the senior stakeholder and her team, bridging business, newsroom, analytics, and engineering
- Communicate trade-offs, dependencies and changes with clarity
- Monitor analytics and success metrics to surface pain points and opportunities for improvement
- Explain requirements clearly to the engineering team and support Agile hygiene including refinement, sprint planning and reviews
- Remain calm and effective under pressure in a high-change environment
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst on news, media or content-heavy platforms
- Solid understanding of content, newsroom, or editorial workflows (news product experience required, not conference, events or static content sites)
- Hands-on experience with WordPress or similar CMS platforms
- Strong background partnering closely with engineering teams
- Working knowledge of Amplitude and web analytics to guide requirements and prioritization
- Demonstrated ability to operate in fast-moving, high-visibility environments
- Practical skills in Agile methodologies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning and reviews
- Highly organized, analytical, and articulate communication style, with confidence working with senior stakeholders and technical leads
- English proficiency at B2 (Upper-Intermediate) level or higher
