Contract Estimator (Mining Infrastructure) – Day Rate | Remote | Immediate Start

A well-established, privately owned civil and mining contractor is seeking an experienced Contract Estimator to support two live tenders for mine site infrastructure works.

This is a short-term, high-impact role requiring someone who can step in quickly and add value across mining-related civil scopes.

Our client is a leading, family-built contractor delivering civil construction, engineering and mining services across Queensland and New South Wales.

They operate a fully integrated, self-performing model, with in-house capability across plant, materials and project delivery, and have built a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure and mining projects across Australia.

Their work spans:

  • Civil infrastructure
  • Mining and bulk earthworks
  • Transport and industrial projects

The Role

You will support two active tenders involving mine site civil infrastructure, including scopes such as:

  • Tailings dam construction
  • Haul roads and access roads
  • Bulk earthworks
  • Mine infrastructure and supporting works

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for mining-related civil works
  • Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation
  • Develop BOQs, build-ups and production-based pricing
  • Engage with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Contribute to bid strategy and commercial inputs
  • Work closely with senior precontracts and operational teams

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as an Estimator on mining or resources projects
  • Strong background in:
    • Bulk earthworks
    • Mine site infrastructure
    • Haul roads / access roads
    • Tailings or dam-related works (highly regarded)
  • Solid understanding of plant rates, production rates and mining environments
  • Ability to work autonomously in a contract capacity
  • Available to start immediately or at short notice
