Opportunity (Part-Time): Aviation Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Bottom Line Up Front: Hoplite Group is seeking an experienced Aviation Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a long-term U.S. Government advisory effort focused on aviation logistics modernization, maintenance operations, and quality management program development in support of partner nation air force operations.

Location: Remote support (CONUS) and recurring forward engagements (OCONUS) within the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR) as part of a U.S. Government team.

Level of Effort:
  • Multiple OCONUS engagements annually, typically one week in duration.
  • Approximately 6–8 forward engagements per year.
  • Recurring virtual engagements conducted throughout the year in support of program objectives.
  • Part-time support aligned to operational and engagement requirements.

Objective: To support aviation logistics modernization efforts through advisory support focused on reestablishing and strengthening aviation quality management and maintenance operations programs.

Required Qualifications:
  • Senior aviation logistics professional with extensive experience in U.S. military aviation logistics operations, readiness reporting, planning, policy development, lifecycle management, and sustainment of major end systems.
  • Retired senior military officer (O-5/O-6 preferred) with demonstrated aviation logistics leadership experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with aviation logistics support processes and procedures, including Aviation Support Division operations, Rotatable/Velocity Pool Repairable management, and Maintenance/Supply logistics coordination.
  • Experience supporting Aviation Organizational and Intermediate Level Maintenance operations, including development, expansion, and sustainment of aviation maintenance capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience with aviation Safety and Quality Management programs, associated policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements supporting aviation maintenance operations.
  • Understanding of international aviation quality standards and programs, including AS9110 or comparable frameworks.
  • Experience with Obsolescence Management, Warehouse Management, and Care of Stores in Stock (COSIS) programs.
  • Extensive experience coordinating and collaborating with Allies and Partner Nations in operational or advisory environments.
  • Experience supporting Geographic Combatant Command operations, planning, or advisory efforts.
  • Active Secret Clearance required.
