Overview

We are looking for a Market Data Analyst based in Málaga or ready to relocate to Spain. EPAM will provide relocation support to you and your family upon a successful interview process.

We always hire for a career in EPAM, but the initial client for this hire is a leading UK-based hedge fund with aggressive growth aspirations and a challenging delivery agenda. A successful candidate is expected to work from our Málaga office 4 days/week and visit the client in their London office as required.

In this role, you will enjoy a diverse mix of tasks that will keep you challenged and intrigued. Not only will you perform data analysis, but also dive into development, undertake leadership and project management tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with desks on issues related to market data, BAU activities and small-scale projects
  • Specify new functionality required by projects across front, middle and back offices
  • Propose innovative processes, tools and solutions to business problems with technology
  • Investigate complex functional software issues, perform root cause analysis and establish resolutions
  • Drive automation opportunities and suggest improvements for efficiency
  • Document processes and maintain knowledge management infrastructure
  • Identify and manage risks, with timely escalation of critical issues
  • Make recommendations and exercise independent judgment in complex situations
  • Participate in on-call rotations (subject to on-call and overtime compensation)

Requirements

  • Knowledge in the capital market domain (funds, investment banks, brokers, market infrastructure, data/platform vendors, etc.)
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with different asset classes (Equities, Bonds, Derivatives), with solid knowledge of their features and life cycle
  • Technical background with SQL and solid data interrogation skills
  • Positive attitude to face uncertainty and complexity, paired with the ability to provide recommendations and make own judgements
  • Clear and precise communication, leadership of others and efficient knowledge transfer

  • Experience with Buy Side
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with high volume datasets
  • Familiarity with market data systems and financial data providers (Bloomberg, Reuters, Markit, etc.)
  • Process documentation skills
