We are seeking an experienced Lead Android Engineer to join our Mobile Team working on a leading global prestige retail platform.

The project focuses on the development and support of applications across Desktop, mWeb, iOS, and Android platforms, with over 100 specialists collaborating to enhance this sophisticated portal. The Android stream is dedicated to building and supporting a native Android app recognized as one of the top apps in its category.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support a next-generation native Android application
  • Contribute to the architecture and implementation of new features within a large and sophisticated mobile portal
  • Integrate third-party libraries, services, and components into the Android app
  • Ensure adherence to Android Design Patterns, coding conventions, and Google's Design Guidelines
  • Maintain compliance with Google Play Developer Program Policies
  • Optimize networking, local data caching, and multitasking performance on Android
  • Collaborate within Agile processes alongside a mix of local and remote team members
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the Android team
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across iOS, Mobile Web, and Desktop streams

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Android development
  • At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience
  • Expertise in Java, App Components, and UI frameworks
  • Proficiency in Android developer tools and workflows
  • Understanding of Android Design Patterns, coding conventions, and Google's Design Guidelines
  • Familiarity with Google Play Developer Program Policies
  • Knowledge of networking, local data caching, and multitasking on Android
  • Background in working with third-party libraries and services
  • Proficiency in AI-assisted ("vibe") coding and mature personal adoption of AI tools
  • Competency in Agile processes
  • Capability to lead and work in a dynamic team environment with a mix of local and remote resources
  • Fluency in English, with a minimum B2/B2+ level for effective communication

Nice to have

  • Development experience with other mobile platforms
  • Familiarity with Swift
  • Skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
