Firebird is an international online travel company that organizes trips to Europe. The product team is growing; there are several commercially available projects in production:

Tech stack: PHP 8+, Drupal, React, Next.js, MariaDB, Docker, Git

Responsibilities:

  • Design and create end-to-end project architecture — from data model and API design to UI/UX implementation
  • Backend development: PHP/Drupal services, business logic, custom modules
  • Frontend development: React/Next.js applications, component architecture, state management, SSR/SSG strategies
  • Analyze business requirements and design implementations across the full stack
  • Modify, implement and create custom Drupal modules and themes, and reusable React components
  • Build responsive, accessible, and performant UIs
  • Integrate with external services (payment systems, Salesforce, GDS services) at API and UI levels
  • Participate in API contract design and conduct code reviews across backend and frontend
  • Use company-approved AI development tools in compliance with policies; work with version control, Jira and Confluence

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience shipping both backend and frontend features in production
  • Strong knowledge of PHP (>8.0): OOP, code refactoring, coding standards
  • Strong knowledge of React: hooks, component design patterns, state management (Redux/Context/Zustand)
  • Hands-on experience with Next.js — SSR, SSG, ISR, API routes, hydration
  • Experience with at least one popular PHP framework (Drupal/Laravel/Symfony)
  • Solid understanding of REST/GraphQL API design and backend-frontend integration
  • Experience with Nginx + php-fpm, modern frontend tooling (Webpack/Vite, npm/yarn); TypeScript is a plus
  • Comfortable working in the Linux console; experience with Git and code review workflows
