Xsolla is a global video game commerce company providing tools and services for game developers and publishers. Quality engineering is foundational to products delivered worldwide.

Role overview: Senior technical leadership role responsible for owning and scaling Xsolla's quality engineering function across multiple product lines, teams, and time zones. Lead a distributed organization of 30+ QA engineers and leads as part of a broader QA organization of 75+ professionals. Hands-on role requiring review of automation code, architecting test frameworks, debugging CI/CD pipelines, and evaluating AI-driven testing approaches.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define and execute QA strategy across products; own QA deliverables end-to-end and establish quality gates and defect governance.
  • Architect and oversee enterprise-grade test automation frameworks (UI, API, database validation, performance testing).
  • Ensure integration of automation into CI/CD pipelines with clear pass/fail signals and automated regression gates.
  • Drive adoption of infrastructure-as-code, containerized/ephemeral test environments, and environment parity.
  • Evaluate and implement QA tooling and observability integrations; enforce test code quality and documentation standards.
  • Champion AI-assisted quality engineering (Claude AI and similar) and define governance for AI-generated artifacts.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed team of 30+ QA professionals across multiple time zones; manage resource allocation, onboarding, and career development.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and Release Management; operate in Agile/Scrum environments and act as primary QA stakeholder for cross-functional initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years in QA/Quality Engineering with at least 6+ years in Senior Manager or Director-level roles.
  • Proven experience leading teams of 30+ people distributed across multiple time zones.
  • Hands-on technical proficiency and ability to write and review test automation code (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java).
  • Expertise in test automation frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, etc.), API testing (REST/GraphQL), and database validation (SQL).
  • Performance testing experience (K6, JMeter, Gatling, Locust).
  • Expert knowledge of Git, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI) and troubleshooting pipelines.
  • Experience with test management platforms (Qase, TestRail, Zephyr) and observability tools.
  • Demonstrated professional use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) for test generation, automation coding, defect analysis, or process optimization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Strong communication and leadership skills.

Conditions: Onsite, office in Baku. Full-time director-level position leading a global QA organization and responsible for QA strategy, tooling, metrics, and team development.
