The Role

As QA Director you will define and own the long-term QA strategy, lead and develop the QA team, prepare QA for Early Access and launch, shape internal and external testing approaches, and align automation with wider quality goals. This is a strategic leadership role with occasional hands-on involvement.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the long-term QA strategy
  • Lead, support and develop the existing QA team
  • Prepare the QA function for Early Access, launch and future projects
  • Develop scalable QA processes for multiple teams and projects
  • Shape strategy for internal testing, external QA partners and outsourced testing
  • Ensure QA coverage for game development and player-facing tools
  • Work with DevOps and technical specialists to align automation priorities
  • Support release readiness and help teams make informed decisions on quality, risk and scope

Requirements

  • 8+ years experience in games QA or software quality engineering
  • 3+ years in a QA leadership role, with experience leading QA teams through at least one release
  • Extensive professional experience in games quality assurance and scaling QA teams
  • Experience working with external QA providers, outsourcing partners or vendors
  • Strong understanding of the role automation plays within QA
  • Experience collaborating with production, engineering, DevOps and other disciplines
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills

Bonus

  • Experience with Unreal Engine
  • Experience supporting a game through Early Access or launch
  • Experience in PC and/or console development
  • Experience testing player-facing or creator-facing tools
