The Senior Director of People & Operations is responsible for managing and strengthening day-to-day people operations to support a high-performing, equitable, and scalable organization. This role partners closely with the Chief of Staff and leadership team to ensure HR processes run smoothly across hiring, employee experience, and internal systems.

The Senior Director of People & Operations will lead a lean HR team (recruitment and operations). This is a hands-on role focused on execution, consistency, and continuous improvement across core HR functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Talent Acquisition

    • Partner with hiring managers to support end-to-end recruitment processes

    • Manage and improve candidate experience from sourcing through onboarding

    • Ensure structured hiring practices (clear Job Descriptions, interview processes, evaluation criteria)

    • Track key hiring metrics (time-to-fill, pipeline health, offer acceptance)

    • Support building diverse candidate pipelines aligned with organizational goals

  • HR Operations & Systems

    • Manage and optimize HR systems (e.g., Zoho)

    • Ensure HR processes are well-documented, consistent, and scalable

    • Maintain accurate employee data and reporting

    • Support payroll inputs and coordination with finance

    • Ensure compliance with India labor laws and statutory requirements

    • Improve operational efficiency across HR workflows

  • Employee Experience & Transitions

    • Oversee onboarding and induction processes for new hires

    • Support employee engagement initiatives and feedback mechanisms

    • Manage employee lifecycle processes (role changes, exits, transitions)

    • Ensure clear and consistent communication during organizational updates

    • Identify and address employee experience gaps and retention risks

    • Oversee and manage annual appraisal processes

  • DEI & Culture

    • Support initiatives that promote an inclusive and equitable workplace

    • Embed inclusive practices into hiring and employee experience processes

    • Partner with managers to reinforce strong team culture and engagement

    • Track and monitor basic DEI metrics (e.g., gender representation in hiring)

  • General Administration & Operations

    • Oversee day-to-day office and workplace operations to ensure smooth functioning

    • Manage facilities administration, vendor coordination, and office maintenance needs

    • Maintain oversight of inventory, supplies, and equipment

    • Support procurement and purchasing processes for operational needs

    • Partner with leadership to support special projects and cross-functional operational needs
