Overview

We are looking for a Senior Automation Tester in Java with a strong Quality Engineering background in both exploratory and automation testing. The successful candidate will bring expertise in a variety of test design techniques and technologies, business domain knowledge and proven delivery in sophisticated, fast-paced environments. Excellent interpersonal skills and time management will be vital in this role, as the candidate will drive the adoption of best practices in test automation across the estate.

Responsibilities

  • Represent and foster the Quality function within an agile team
  • Implement test plans to deliver test phases on time
  • Design efficient functional and non-functional test scenarios and cases ensuring there is traceability back to all business requirements
  • Prepare the testing data
  • Design, create and enhance test automation packs in Java
  • Maintain and execute tests, record results and undertake defect retesting
  • Report progress and issues clearly and concisely
  • Highlight and analyze test environments issues
  • Collaborate with the team to resolve issues
  • Deliver to agreed timescales
  • Identify risks and escalate to the project stakeholders
  • Provide feedback and implement process improvements where suitable

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering and test automation
  • Degree in computer science, engineering or mathematics
  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies and Agile testing delivery
  • Expertise in Interest Rate instruments (IRS, ZC, Basis, OIS, FRA, VNS, Futures)
  • Familiarity with FpML, FIXML and XML
  • Proficiency in test design techniques, test execution using GUIs and APIs as well as test automation on Murex and/or Java
  • Skills in Results Analysis and Defect Management
  • Competency in SQL, Java (Junit, SpringBoot)
  • Background in RestAssured, Postman and Git
  • Capability to establish and maintain relationships at all levels across the organization, anticipate and solve problems and balance long-term corporate objectives with short-term project needs
  • Excellent formal written, verbal and presentation skills: ability to communicate technical or complex subject matter to non-subject matter experts and to peers
  • Flexibility to work in a project team and with other departments, learn new business and technical concepts quickly and remain self-motivated and keen to develop personally
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher

Nice to have

  • STQB or ISEB Software Testing Qualification
  • Understanding of Clearing workflows, Risk management and Regulatory reporting (incl. CFTC, EMIR, BoE)
  • Background in Clearing and/or investment banking testing
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Zephyr and Cucumber
  • Skills in React, JavaScript and AI applied to testing
  • Knowledge of AWS Cloud (or other) and ControlM
