The Role
In this position, you will work alongside our financial analysts to build the front end components for custom data analysis tools. The project with the Milanese financial technology firm requires us to build dashboards and data entry systems that are functional and free from unnecessary clutter. You will be translating financial logic and spreadsheet models into web based applications that help senior leaders identify hidden risks and opportunities. We operate with a remote first mindset, so you will need to be comfortable managing your own time and documenting your code clearly. This is a role for a developer who cares about how a tool works as much as how it looks, and who is willing to look under the hood to understand the business logic being represented.
What You Will Be Doing
- Translating design mockups into functional HTML and CSS components.
- Developing interactive elements for financial dashboards using JavaScript and modern libraries.
- Working with senior team members to connect front end components to backend data structures.
- Identifying and fixing visual bugs or usability issues in early stage prototypes.
- Collaborating with the financial team to understand how analysts interact with data.
- Ensuring the user interface remains consistent across different views and complex data sets.
- Participating in reviews to assess how new interface features will perform for the end user.
- Building and maintaining component libraries to ensure the code is reusable.
- Developing layouts that make dense financial data easy to read and interpret.
- A basic understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with design tools like Figma or Sketch to translate layouts into code.
- A desire to understand the logic behind the software you are building.
- Sharp attention to detail regarding layout, spacing, and font consistency.
- The ability to explain technical concepts to teammates who focus primarily on finance.
