We are hiring for a senior BI-focused role within an ongoing digital product initiative for a client in the retail industry. The project involves enhancing an existing web-based platform with new analytics and reporting capabilities.
The person joining this role will help design and deliver new business dashboards, working closely with product and data stakeholders to understand reporting needs, translate business questions into data models, and create clear, user-friendly visualizations. This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys combining business understanding, data modeling, and dashboard development in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards in Google Looker
- Work closely with product and data stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and business goals
- Translate data and business needs into clear, intuitive, and actionable dashboards
- Develop and maintain LookML models, views, and explores
- Write and optimize SQL queries for analytical use cases
- Contribute to data modeling activities, including structuring data for reporting purposes
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability of dashboards and reporting outputs
- Collaborate effectively within a cross-functional setup, including business, product, and data teams
- Support iterative delivery in an Agile way of working
Qualifications
Must Have
- 3+ years of experience with Google Looker and LookML
- Strong knowledge of SQL, ideally in cloud-based data warehouse environments
- Experience with data modeling, including star and snowflake schemas
- Proven ability to turn complex data into clear and easy-to-use dashboards
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience with BigQuery
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Basic knowledge of Python for data analysis
- Experience working in consulting or enterprise environments
- Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies
