Xsolla is hiring a Director of Quality Assurance to own and scale the quality engineering function across multiple product lines, teams, and time zones.
Key responsibilities:
- Define and execute QA strategy, quality gates, defect governance and release readiness across products.
- Architect and oversee enterprise-grade test automation frameworks (UI, API, database) and integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Drive adoption of infrastructure-as-code, containerized test execution and ephemeral test environments; evaluate and implement QA tooling and observability integrations.
- Champion AI-assisted testing practices (generation of test cases, automation code, flaky test identification) and define governance for AI-generated artifacts.
- Lead, mentor and develop a distributed team of 30+ QA professionals; manage resource allocation, onboarding, and career development.
- Establish QA KPIs/OKRs, run root cause analysis on production escapes and present quality metrics to executive stakeholders.
Required qualifications:
- 15+ years in QA/Quality Engineering with 6+ years in Senior Manager or Director-level roles.
- Proven experience leading teams of 30+ people across multiple time zones.
- Hands-on technical proficiency and ability to write/review test automation code (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java).
- Deep expertise in test automation frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress), API testing (REST/GraphQL), database validation (SQL).
- Performance testing experience (K6, JMeter, Gatling, Locust).
- Expert knowledge of Git (branching strategies) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI) and integrating automated tests into pipelines.
- Demonstrated professional use of AI tools for testing (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot or similar).
- Experience with test management platforms (Qase, TestRail, Zephyr) and Agile/Scrum environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
- Experience in video game, fintech, or e-commerce/payments industries.
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (GCP, AWS, Azure), containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), security testing (OWASP) and data pipeline testing.
- Experience building QA Centres of Excellence and transforming QA to automation-first practices.
