The Role
As a Junior React Developer, you will work directly with our financial analysts to turn spreadsheet-based models into interactive, web-based tools. We do not build flashy marketing sites: we build clean, logical dashboards that allow our principals to present data-driven arguments to clients. The role is fully remote, giving you the flexibility to manage your development tasks while staying closely aligned with our small, senior team. You will be learning how to structure front-end code that handles large datasets without sacrificing performance or clarity. This is a foundational position where your work directly supports the financial clarity we provide to our clients.
What You Will Be Doing
- Developing and maintaining React components for internal financial assessment tools.
- Translating Excel-based logic and capital allocation models into responsive web interfaces.
- Working on a project for a Rome-based infrastructure firm to visualize their long-term maintenance costs and revenue projections.
- Connecting front-end interfaces to internal data sources and ensuring financial figures remain accurate during updates.
- Collaborating with senior developers to review code and improve the efficiency of our data entry forms.
- Testing new features to ensure they work across different browsers and are accessible to colleagues who are not technical people.
- Documenting the logic behind specific interface choices to help the advisory team explain the tools to client stakeholders.
- Participating in remote stand-ups to discuss progress and resolve technical blockers.
- Basic knowledge of React and modern JavaScript (ES6+) gained through a degree, a coding bootcamp, or self-directed projects.
- A foundational understanding of HTML and CSS, particularly in creating clean, uncluttered layouts.
- Curiosity about how businesses make money and an interest in financial data.
- High attention to detail where you notice when a number is misplaced or a decimal point is in the wrong spot.
- Willingness to learn new libraries and state management practices as our internal toolset grows.
- Comfort with Git for version control and basic command-line operations.
- The ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical financial advisors clearly and simply.
