Required skills
- Strong experience with relational databases in high-load production environments
- Deep understanding of backup, recovery, replication and high availability concepts
- Strong SQL skills with proven experience in query optimization and performance tuning
- Hands-on experience with database schema design and evolution
- Solid Linux skills
- Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle in production
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS or GCP) and automation tools (Ansible or Terraform) is a plus
- B2 level of English, both written and spoken
Responsibilities
- Own and improve relational database environments to ensure performance, scalability and reliability
- Review and validate database‑related application changes before release
- Identify and resolve performance issues across the full lifecycle, from triage to production validation
- Optimize queries and refactor schemas to support data growth and evolving product needs
- Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, Data Science and Reliability teams
- Contribute to incident management processes and overall system reliability goals
- Maintain documentation, security standards and database best practices for the project’s database environment, which may include MySQL or Oracle and PostgreSQL
