Salary: $550–$900 USD/month

About the company

Remote World is partnering with a UK-based digital agency to hire for this role. They build and maintain WordPress sites for clients in professional services, healthcare, and education — typically 10–20 active projects at any time, ranging from content sites to custom-plugin integrations.

The role

You'll build, customise, and maintain WordPress sites for a portfolio of UK clients — working from design briefs to deliver clean, fast, secure builds. You'll develop custom themes and plugins where needed, and you'll be the go-to person for anything WordPress-related.

What you'll do

  • Build WordPress sites from design mockups using custom themes or page builders
  • Develop custom plugins and theme modifications using PHP
  • Maintain existing client sites — updates, security patches, and performance
  • Integrate third-party tools including CRMs, payment gateways, and analytics
  • Troubleshoot and debug WordPress issues across hosting environments

What you'll need

  • Strong WordPress development experience — themes, plugins, and custom PHP
  • Solid HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for frontend work
  • Comfortable with Git and deploying to shared or managed hosting
  • Reliable and communicative — clients notice when things go wrong

Nice to have

  • Experience with Elementor, ACF, or WooCommerce
  • Familiarity with performance optimisation (caching, image compression, Core Web Vitals)
  • Understanding of WordPress security best practices

What you'll get

  • $550–$900 USD/month based on experience
  • Fully remote and async-friendly
  • Varied projects across industries — no two builds are the same
  • Paid leave
  • Path to Senior Developer or Technical Lead roles

Apply with your CV and links to two or three WordPress sites you've built or contributed to.
