Overview
Archive Digital is looking for acontract Information Architecture & Site Structure Associateto help us plan and document how websites are organized—specificallynavigation structure, sitemaps, page hierarchy, and content/technology information structure. You’ll work closely with strategy, design, and development to translate requirements into clear, build-ready IA deliverables.
This is acontract positionand fully remote,with flexible hours, ideal for someone who’s strong in structured thinking, documentation, and UX-oriented site planning.
Responsibilities
Create and refineinformation architecturefor new websites and redesigns (page hierarchy, taxonomy, content grouping).
Producesitemaps(high-level and detailed) that align with user journeys, business goals, and SEO considerations.
Define and documentnavigation structures(global nav, utility nav, footer nav, secondary/section nav).
Buildcontent models / page templatesat a structural level (what modules/components appear on which page types).
Mapuser flowsand key pathways (e.g., browse→evaluate→convert) to ensure the IA supports conversion and clarity.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather inputs and turn them into structured outputs (workshops, notes→sitemap/nav).
Documenttechnology-related information structurewhere needed (e.g., CMS collections, content types, tagging rules, URL structure, redirects, metadata requirements).
Support handoff to design/dev with clean documentation and version control.

Sitemap (visual + spreadsheet format)
Navigation schema (labels, hierarchy, rules)
Page inventory and content grouping recommendations
Content type definitions (CMS-ready where applicable)
URL/slug rules + redirect notes (when relevant)

Requirements
Requirements
Proven experience producingIA, sitemaps, and navigation systemsfor marketing sites and/or content-heavy websites.
Strong understanding ofUX principlesand how users scan and find information.
Comfortable working with ambiguity and turning messy inputs into clear structure.
Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
Familiarity with SEO-friendly architecture (crawlability, hierarchy, internal linking logic).
Nice to Have
Experience withCMS structuring(Webflow, WordPress, headless CMS like Contentful/Sanity, etc.).
Understanding ofschema/metadata, tagging systems, and scalable taxonomy design.
Experience collaborating with agencies or cross-functional teams (strategy/design/dev).
Ability to run or supportIA workshops(card sorting, stakeholder alignment sessions).
