The ship's Nurse is responsible for providing appropriateday-to-day health care to guests and crew onboard. Performs nursingcare in a proficient, calm and professional manner during routine work shiftsas well as during a crisis, increased workload or emergency.
Responsibilities
- Starting an intravenous infusion
- Assisting with a cardiac arrest with drugs, ventilation and compression
- Calculates correct drug dosage andadministers medication as per physician’s prescription or order
- Checks emergency equipment,maintains established par levels of medical supplies and medications
- Assists the physician with procedures,treatments, document nursing interventions, observations and sets up treatmentrooms
- Initiates nursing intervention fornon-urgent patients, such as but not limited to ice application, dressings,splints and bandages
Requirements
- Nursing school degree with minimum two years of clinical experience
- Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificates
- Experience with cardiac care, trauma, internal medicine
- Emergency room and general practice background
- Pleasant and communicative character
- Professional attitude and appearance
