The Portfolio Delivery Operations Director is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving the operational execution and performance of a portfolio of Accelero studies. This leader ensures consistent, high‑quality delivery for sponsors by setting a strong operational cadence, championing standard work, and using data to anticipate risk, remove barriers, and elevate delivery outcomes.
Leading primarily through influence, you will own portfolio‑level KPIs and dashboards that bring clarity, accountability, and focus on day‑to‑day operations. You will proactively identify trends, address performance gaps, and turn insights into action—ensuring studies stay on track and sponsors experience reliable, measurable results.
In support of strategic accounts, you will play an active role in sponsor and customer governance, providing data‑driven insights, recommendations, and clear escalation paths for operational challenges. You will translate sponsor priorities into practical, executable operational plans and drive disciplined follow‑through, strengthening relationships through transparency, responsiveness, and consistent performance.
This role is also a key driver of continuous improvement. You will implement best practices, lead process optimization efforts, and coordinate SWAT Accelero deployment and outcomes through a hybrid leadership model, including dotted‑line leadership of SWAT Accelero resources. In close partnership with the AVP, Clinical Trials Strategy and Delivery Optimization, you will bring enterprise standards, governance expectations, and KPI frameworks to life—embedding them into daily operations and delivering tangible, sustained performance improvement.
This is a fully remote position based in the US; relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are not available.
Qualifications for Success Include:
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
7 years’ professional work experience in clinical research or project management with experience managing multiple complex studies concurrently
Demonstrated experience managing clinical trials independently, and leading through influence in a hybrid model (dotted-line leadership and coordination across matrixed resources)
Preferred Relevant Experience
10+ years’ professional work experience in clinical research
Pharma / CRO management experience and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Associate Director or equivalent role
Project Management or Clinical Research Certification (eg, PMP, CCRP)
